Although the Volunteer Tutoring Program may be beneficial, I’d like to see a survey which was done through the Broward Teachers Union before it is purchased. I believe that many Early Childhood Teachers believe that students already spend too much time in front of a computer screen. Even though this program includes a voice from a tutor, it may not be a program that Broward teachers feel is the best use of the limited time they have during a school day.

If the district conducts the survey in collaboration with BTU you’ll get real data from the teachers without them feeling intimidated when answering questions. Please postpone this item and collect this valuable data from teachers before spending this amount of scarce funding.
