I support a Wednesday start as I also believe many educators do as well but don't want to have to return back so early. In elementary school its challenging for our youngest learners to adjust to a being in school for the first time for an entire week. I have been in primary classrooms during the first few weeks of school especially the first week and witness how much of a struggle it is for the children. I also support eliminating half days. Hopefully we can have more than 2 options for the following year. Also regardless of the calendar, the district needs to ensure teaching is expected from teachers every single day that children show up to school regardless of how many others are absent.
