I believe it would be great to have everyone wearing the same uniform so that it minimizes the competition of comparing clothes with others of different incomes and minimizes the inappropriate language and graphics found in many outfits.

I am here to support the silent majority that fully support uniforms. As a parent grandmother and Mayor I have seen that uniform policy removes the stress of parents teachers and more importantly students from the distractions of the loose inconsistent policy the school district has now . It reduces. the worry, drama , morning clothing debates bullying and emotional insecurity of students .
Teachers do not need to be fashion police .
Students and teachers need to be focused on teaching and learning . I. Flu e it also lends itself to better security.
In my opinion and from my experience I fully support a countywide policy that sets a standard of excellence.

I do not support changing the current policy that allows individual school SAC/SAF to initiate a dress code policy that is suitable for that school. The current format allows schools the autonomy to change their dress code policy to the needs of their community and as the community changes over time. I do not feel that there is a significant impact in having a unified dress code, our school went from having a uniform policy to not having one without negative impact. Also, I believe this policy will be particularly unpopular at the high school level.

If this decision does go forward it should be with more community input than a single Board Meeting and with clear and comparative data that shows the benefits of unified dress in a school district, as well as in individual schools.
