I am writing to you as the SAF Chair of Davie Elementary, to express my strong concern regarding the potential removal of our principal. Given the comparative data on academic performance between Davie Elementary and Hollywood Central Elementary, I believe it is critical to highlight the remarkable progress our school has made under the leadership of our current principal. I urge you to reconsider any plans to replace him with the principal from Hollywood Central Elementary, who has not demonstrated similar growth.

Davie Elementary has not only outperformed Hollywood Central in key areas but has also shown consistent growth under the stewardship of our principal. The academic gains made by our students, especially in the face of significant challenges such as a higher ELL population, are a testament to the effective leadership and dedication of our current principal.

Furthermore, it is important to note that our principal has only been given 16 months to implement these positive changes. Despite this limited time frame, the results have been impressive. Additionally, the Davie community selected our current principal through a community-driven process, reflecting our trust and confidence in his ability to lead our school.

The Davie community feels blindsided and ignored by the district and its superintendent in this decision. If a change in leadership is deemed necessary, we have all summer to engage in a thorough and transparent process that respects the input and choice of our community. Continuing to disregard the voices of the voters will only serve to anger and alienate us further.

Our students deserve a leader who has proven their ability to enhance educational outcomes. Removing our principal, who has led Davie Elementary to notable achievements, would be a step backward. I strongly advocate for retaining our current principal to continue building on the success and momentum that has been established.

Jessica Norton should not be fired. There has been no substantial evidence that she did anything illegal or against school board policy. The school board and their special investigation has not provided any grounds for her dismissal. The law Governor DeSantis is 100% unconstitutional and the judge only denied the case in order to give the Norton's attorney time to clarify and refile so they will win. THEY WILL WIN! And don't you want to be on the right side of history when this law is overturned? He is clearly abusing his power by forcing the Board to take this action. The board needs to stand up to him and send a CLEAR message that they won't be bullied into doing what is wrong. This is clearly in retaliation for the lawsuit Mrs. Norton and her daughter filed against him. It is clearly abuse of power. PLEASE HAVE THE BALLS TO STAND UP TO THE GOVERNOR AND LET MRS. NORTON REMAIN AT MONARCH!! The students, teachers, staff, EVERYONE at Monarch wants her back. She has been the backbone of that school since day one. Unfortunately, her daughter will never be able to attend public school again, so at least do this for the Norton Family. PLEASE MAKE THINGS RIGHT!!!
