My name is Dr. Trudy Jermanovich.

I’m glad to see the continuation of more in-depth reports from various appointed committees. It is important to continue to listen to the voices of those who’ve volunteered their time for this district. Unfortunately, I think the Board needs to have more robust, immediate action when an issue occurs.

A further report on the the type of reprimand and/or if there was additional training given to the officer who appears to have erroneously charged the volunteer with assault of an officer needs to come to the Board.

I, along with many others, witnessed the events and felt there was no way that the incident was handled correctly or in the same manner that you would expect SRO’s in a school to react. If you wouldn’t handle students or staff like that, then you shouldn’t be allowed to handle volunteers or the public in that manner at a Board Meeting. Where is the training for de-escalation?

Someone should be held accountable by the Superintendent for this incident.
