While more than 20,000 children have been killed, maimed, or starved to death in Gaza, West Bank and Lebanon and while there are Palestinian and Lebanese students in our Broward schools who have lost many family members there, the School Board of Broward County has yet to publicly recognize the severe suffering of Palestinians and Lebanese. In a time of increasing Anti-Arab and Islamophobic sentiments in our schools, the School Board must act now to publicly provide all resources to affected students and families. Public announcement by School Board is vitally important to act as a deterrence for all hate. Let us be truly inclusive and stand for equity.
