    As a mother to a soon to be sixth grader and resident of Northlake, I urge you to support the recommendation to turn HCE into a K-8. I would also ask that you explore the possibility of a partnership with the neighboring Art and Cultural Center and create a performing art center magnet program. Alternatively, I would recommend a Montessori magnet program modeled after the success at Beachside as it has been one of the only public schools in the area that has been able to compete with local charter schools.
