My name is Dr. Trudy Jermanovich and I’m strongly opposed to the overemphasis on test scores.
I am disgusted looking at these long presentations which focus only on test scores. As I’ve said for many years - When the District is focusing on testing or gathering “data,” it is not focusing on real teaching and learning.
Students can now be evaluated on their total performance during their 180 days of classroom work in order to be promoted. I would like to have seen at least one comparison of the grades received on report cards for this school year compared to last school year at the half way mark.
I believe that this year the District needs to focus on data that encourages moving away from testing and promotes real teaching and learning.
