My name is Dr. Trudy Jermanovich

This is the time of year that teachers try to prop up other teachers. Unfortunately, it often includes the district level micromanagement within the classroom.

“Until the state stops the continuous testing, we will lose students. We are creating anxious adults with all the developmentally inappropriate methods and testing happening right now.”

This is only for Kindergarten students. The mass requirement to constantly be collecting data for the district is out of control.”

“I would love to bring back actually TEACHING!”
“Then there would be actual learning...can't have that.”

Parents often choose taking their child out of a real public school because of the overemphasis on testing. Private schools, which take money away from public schools through vouchers, do not have the same over-testing and constant test prep. The district should let the teacher decide what to use in the classroom unless it is a requirement in state statute.

The School Board could minimize over testing of students by directing the Superintendent to limit mandatory testing to what is specified by the state. Let’s not drive teachers away from BCPS.
